SYNTOR / SAB CHANNEL MEMORY INFORMATION Original Memory Prom Information Control Heads & Channel Expansion Banks Channel Frequency Data Locations Original Memory Prom Information The Syntor originally came with either a 256 x 4 prom
(equivalent to 82S129) that had memory for up to 16 channels or a 512 x 4 prom
(equivalent to 82S131) that provided memory space for 32 channels. The standard SAB adapter board
is pin for pin compatible for the 512 x 4 prom, so it can be used in a 16 or 32
channel Syntor with no modifications.
Control Heads & Channel Expansion Banks The
SAB also has the capability to expand the available number of channels for your
Syntor radio. The memory expansion
capability depends on the memory device used. The number of channel banks
for each device is:
The

The
EPROM address lines can be accessed directly on the SAB,
which allows you to use any control head with the SAB. The SAB along with
some external wiring and a bank
selector switch mounted near the control head can give you as many as 16 frequency banks. Here
is more information about how to switch to the other banks. The actual channel memory bank locations are at:
